WorkBuildings headquarters earns top LEED status

The WorkingBuildings Group of Companies has received LEED platinum for commercial interiors certification for its corporate office in Atlanta, according to a press release.

WorkingBuildings achieved the highest-level certification by using a number of sustainable practices. It minimized material use and diverted more than 75 percent of construction waste materials from landfills. It implemented measures to reduce water and energy use by 35 percent over typical offices, such as replacing bathroom fixtures with new, more water-efficient fixtures and installing new overhead lighting LED task lighting.

Interior materials were carefully selected to enhance the indoor air quality, such as the purchase of Green Label Plus carpet tiles and GREENGUARD certified office furniture.

The office also shares space with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Georgia Chapter.
